Feedback from Tom Bowers

I had been given feedback on my projects so far.

For Mad Max:

  • Needs ambience
  • The ADR at the beginning needs more reverb to emulate a cave
  • Think about the change of scene from the cave to the cars, the cars coming in sooner can narrate a change in scene
  • As the characters come closer to the camera, their dialogue needs to be louder.
  • The car sounds used aren't that good. I should go to some car meet ups and dealerships to try record dirtier engines.
  • Don't let the drums fade when they go off screen, it seems unnatrual
  • Exaggerate everything, these clips are all over the top
  • Some cars need more characterization.
  • Remove any weak car sounds and replace them with better sounds.
  • The explosions sound the same, change this if you have time
  • Try to add more foley

For Dragonball:

  • There is too much low end in the character voices, drop below 70dB to make this better
  • The foot steps at the beginning are too sharp, consider changing them to someone who sounds like they are injured.
  • There is a lot of singular sounds in the ambience. I should layer more things together for a more effective ambient noise.
  • There is no car engine even though the camera sits in front of the car.
  • Try change the line where Whis is eating, to sound like he's eating.
  • Add some flying sounds for the characters, just to indicated that they are moving.
